I headed off to work down the road, but noticed my turn signal seemed to be not working. I pulled over, took a look under the hood and even got my flashlight out of the trunk, but couldn&#39;t fix it.<BR/><BR/>Made it into work and it wasn&#39;t long before I was ready for some morning snacks/tea (maybe? this is digging into my memory...). I popped out to the Main Street, got some dosh (I should know this!) from the hole in the wall (local 7/11 type place?) and then indulged in some potato chips and a pack of cookies.<BR/><BR/>By noon I was already contemplating lunch and today the cost was mine to get. Should I have some real comfort food like potatoes and...oh! cabbage? spinach? something green?, or pop to the Chip shop for some real fish sticks and greasy fries! The fair (same?) is in town and at quarter past three a colleague decided to make a run for some cotton candy (Now I want some!). A sort of Holiday English booklet you could download.<BR/><BR/>Another problem is the different words used in different parts of the UK. I was emailing a friend in Northern Ireland, her daughter had been ill and I asked how the bairn was. She was puzzled and asked me what on earth "the bairn" meant. I totally forgot that it's only used in Scotland and the North East.
